He studied at Changsha Central China Art College then at Wuchang Art College. |

Graduated, he moved to Shanghai and joined The Eastern China Photographic Printing |

Company, as an apprentice, under Liu Puqing his master. |

He participated actively to the propaganda work of anti-japanese war. |
