1982

Yundi Li  李云迪 was born into a family of industrialists, on October 7, in Chongqing  China.

   
 

He became interested in classical music at an early age and began studying the piano,

 

at the age of seven.

   

1994

He entered and won the Children's Piano Competition.

 

He followed his appointed teacher to the Shenzhen School of the Arts, then continued

 

his studies at the University of Music and Media in Hanover, Germany, with  Arie Vardi.

   
 

From then on, he went on to win numerous competitions.

1995

Stravinsky International Youth Competition

1998

Southern Missouri International Piano Competition

1999

Franz Liszt International Piano Competition - 3rd Prize

2000

Frédéric Chopin International Piano Competition - 1rst Prize

 

His victory propelled him onto the international scene.

   

2003

He made his Carnegie Hall debut playing Chopin and Litz at the Steinway and Sons

 

150th anniversary  and the following month gave his first U.S. concert in the United States,

 

playing Chopin's Concerto No. 1 with the Philadelphia Orchestra

   

2004

First recital tour in the United States ( Boston - Vancouver - San Francisco

  - New York )
   

2010

He gave a sold-out Chopin recital at London's Royal Festival hall.

   

2013

He embarked on a Piano Dream tour of some 30 Chinese cities, including his hometown,

 

to help people appreciate classical music.

   

2015

He was a juror at the International Chopin Piano Competition.

   

2017

He inaugurated the Yundi Art Museum in Chongqing's Piano Museum.
