Liu Tie-Hua  劉鐵華 wax born in Hebei Province  Chinea

   
 

He studied at the National Academy of Art, in Beijing.

   

1932-1937

His contribution to the woodcut movement in Beijing and Tianjing,

 

led to his imprisonment by the Nationalist Party..

 

On his release, he moved to Xi'an and taught for two years.

   

1939

He then moved to Chongqing.

 

He played an active role in the Woodcut Research Society movement,

 

and taught at the Yu Ts'ai School.

   

1945

He went to Taiwan.
