Fu Chuan-Fu  傅狷夫 pinyin Fu Juanfu

   

1910

Fu Chuan-Fu  傅狷夫 (1910-2007) was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province  China.

 

His father introduced him to classical literature and calligraphy at an early age.

   

1932

He studied in the Xileng Printing Society, by making copies of masterpieces, and by
  specializing in landscapes.
   

1934

During a stay in Nanjing, he was inspired by Xu Beihong 徐悲鸿 ( 1895-1953 ) combining

 

Chinese painting and Western technique, to create his own stylee.

   

1937

He studied color technique under Chen Zhifo 陈之佛 (1895-1963 )

   

1949

He left for Taiwan, traveled the country, soaking up the beauty of the landscapes

 

and devoted himself to the creation and development of painting techniques.

   

1959

He participated in the exhibition with10 calligraphers organized by the National
 

Museum of Historyan and considered a pioneer for its new styles..

   
 

He taught in many schools as The Political Warfare Cadres Academy and The National

 

University of Arts.

   

1990

He moved to the United States and settled in San Francisco.
   

1999

He donated some one hundred works to the San Francisco Museum, which created

 

the next year  a Fellowship for artists engaged in research and creativity in the fields

 

of painting and calligraphy.

   

2007

He passed away at the age of 97.
