1911

Li Zhong-Sheng  李仲生 ( 1911-1984 ) was born in Renhuaxian, Guangdong Province  China.

   
  He studied Painting at the Guangzhou Art College, then at Shanghai Art College.
   

1933

He moved to Japan and attended the Fine Arts University ( Western Painting department )

 

 

1935

He joined the avant-gardist group : The Tokyo Black Western Painting.

 

 

1937

Back in China, he taught at the Chongqing National Art School then at the Hanggzhou
  Fine Arts Institute.
   

1945

He participated at Modern  Painting  exhibition in Chongqing.
   

1949

He moved to Taiwan.
   

1951

He began to play a role in the development of Chinese abstraction, by founding

 

The avant-garde Art studio where his innovative precepts were widely followed by

 

his students.

   

1956

His teaching gave rise to the important avant-garde movement :Ton Fan Group.

   

1984

He passed away at the age of 72.
   

2011

The Taichun National Museum of Fine Arts organized a commemorative exhibition

 

on the occasion of  his Centenary : Lee Chun-Shan
