1962

Guo Jian  郭健 was born on January 26th, in Duyun, Guizhou Province  China.

   

1979

He enlisted in China's People Liberation Army ( P.L.A. ), to enter automatically in

 

the Art department of the University of the army. The regulation changed, he assigned

  to theTelegraph and he served as a propaganda poster painter.
   

1982

He resigned from the Army.
   

1985

He passed the entrance examination at the Central Institute for Minorities, in Beijing.

He studied Calligraphy and Traditional painting.

   

1989

He obtained his B.A. ( Chinese painting and Literature )

 

After his participation in the protest movement inTianmen Square, he joined

 

the community of artists, in Yuanmingyuan and began his career as an artist.

 

 

1992

He moved to Australia and settled in Sydney.

   

2000

He obtained the 1rst Prize at the Fisher's Ghost, Campbelltown City Art Gallery, Australia.

   

2003

He obtained the 1rst Prize at the Liverpool Arts Prize, at Casula Powerhouse, Australia.

   

2005

He returned to China.

   
 

He lives and works in Australia and China.
